Sicily

Italy's largest island, Sicily offers exceptional beaches, charming villages and towns, as well as an abundance of ancient ruins and archeological sites such as the Greek temples in Agrigento, Roman theatre in Syracus, Roman mosaics in Agrigento  and the Greek theatre in Taormina. A visit to Mount Etna i salso a must. Sicily is also known for its cuisine which has been influenced by the many cultures througout the island’s history. Mount Etna

Mount Etna is the largest volcano in Europe and also probably the oldest, being about 350.000 years old. Declared  a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2013 for its “exception level of volcanic activity” as well as global scientific, culture and educational importance” . It is an important center for scientific research that allows thousands of geologists and volcanologists to collect their data.as it’s in an almost constant state of activity erupting on average once a year. This massive mountain is one also one of the top attractions in Sicily and a popular tourist destination . It  offers  great hiking and even better views,  so an excursions to the summit crater is definitely a must.
