Turin, home to the Shroud, Fiat cars and  museums devoted to Ancient Egypt and the history of the capital city of Piemonte has become a destination for lovers of culture and history, while foodies delight in the local produce and specialties of the area’s restaurants.  Piemonte is also famous for wine,  white truffles, hazelnuts, Ferrero Rocher (Nutella) and being the Slow Food movement HQ,  an organization promoting local food and home to some of Italy's best restaurants.  It  is among the world's very finest wine region and  has more OCG wines  than any other Italian region. Some of the most well known names such as Barolo, Barbaresco, and Barbera d'Ast  being just a few.  For the sweet toothed another speciality of this region is chocolate.
